“WHAT INSPIRES US IS THE BEACH LIFE DREAM, THE WIND IN OUR HAIR, BAREFOOT DAYS, A SANDY SHACK, KIDS PLAYING IN THE SAND, SURFING, COCONUTS, A SUNNY PICNIC NEXT TO THE SALTY SEA. WE DREAM OF VOYAGES, FINDING TREASURES, DELVING INTO OUR MERMAID AND PIRATE FANTASIES. PEARLS AND SEASHELLS, LINENS, AND BEACH UMBRELLAS.”
Wildsea was born out of that love for the sea, nature and all things involved with beach culture. Living with simplicity yet keeping it glamorous and authentic. Co-Owners Lulu and Lara met in Tulum, Mexico in 2013. They immediately bonded over their love of design and handcrafted products. They were both in the beginning phases of starting their own lines – Lulu created handmade talisman jewelry and Lara created a line of kimonos and dresses. They both went on to open separately successful stores and brands on the beach road of Tulum in 2015.
Lulu and Lara Joined forces in 2020. Both of which, are now mama’s and while still breastfeeding their babes (super-mami’s) are now bringing you, WILDSEA. Where they combine their talents and production capabilities.

Lulu Leonard – Creative Director, Product Design
Originally from the deserts of Utah - Lulu developed an intrigue for design after many hours spent watching her grandfather hand make native Navajo jewelry from his home studio. She spent her youth in Los Angeles where she developed her creative eye and studied jewelry design. Later moving to Tulum, Mexico in 2012 she finally launched her first label, CALÓ in 2015. Where the beach road shop opened in the brands namesake for 5 years selling all her original designs. She has designed and produced since 3 original collections per year of jewelry, accessories, resort wear + couture for men and women with CALÓ and is now the head creative director and lead product designer for WILDSEA. She built relationships with several small fashion ateliers, tailors, and jewelry production studios to work alongside and create a viable, high quality and high quantity potential commerce business. Focusing on direct to consumer sales and interesting retail experiences. Further, she directed the architectural design and interiors build of CALÓ’s flagship store. Growing to expand online she produced photoshoots for the line creating original content for their website and social media platforms. Other investments further were made to open a NYC summer pop-up store in Tribeca Lower Manhattan where she held and produced a live fashion show presentation during New York Fashion Week for the label.
Lulu has spent the last 9 years traveling and living mainly between Mexico and India learning from ancient cultures crafts and their various approaches to design and embellishment. Focusing on textile design, women’s and men’s resort wear and jewelry. Sustainable fashion techniques, protecting arts of indigenous communities and “creating inspiring looks to live the best moments of your life in” is her mission. It has always been vintage - “treasure hunting is my source of endless inspiration” says, Lulu. “I want people to find these pieces I create in 30-50 years and go wow this is so cool.” So, quality as well as ethics and sustainability is what uphold her values as a designer. “I am excited to see how this project develops and all the fun products we have in store for our growing posse here at WILDSEA.”

Lara has always had a love for beachwear, handmade jewels and artisan crafts. She brings her years of experience in retail and production to WILDSEA to co create ethical, sustainable and high quality pieces, just for you
